A couple of young shepherd, circle of Jan Baptist Xavery (1697-1742)
The indistinct signature and the date 1751 onthe tree trunk behind the present figures may indicatethat the marbles were begun by Xavery but probablycompleted by one of his pupils or associates, perhapsPieter Scheemaeckers II the Younger (1691-1791).
